Winter Walk along the canal with Lou’s family

I’ve known Lou for about three years now – her gorgeous cheeky grinned son, William was at Nursery with my youngest and their now in the same reception class. Lily, serene and thoughtful is in the year above my eldest. So I was incredibly chuffed to be given the opportunity to take the families’ pictures.

Lou and Paul invited me to share a late Autumn morning’s walk with them starting with a very welcome coffee and guided tour round the garden from William taking in the fruit tree and rabbits hutches. (Amusingly I was spotted in their garden which overlooks a playing field by neighbours who’d also recently had their portraits taken.)

The whole family were so welcoming and seemed genuinely relaxed. We headed out towards the canal where we threw sticks in the water and trotted along the towpath. Lou had said she didn’t want any pictures taken of her and Paul asking me to concentrate on the children -  however before we knew it Paul and Lou were having ‘10th anniversary’ pictures taken together while the children made funny faces behind my back! We had a great time.

Paul and Lou have a carefully and creatively designed home and had, even before seeing their pictures, ideas about a montage of family pictures for a large wall in their open plan living area. I maintain that our kids are probably at maximum cuteness now  - and they agreed wanting to capture this ‘season’ before it passes!  We had fun working out which images and wall positions would look best  and I adjusted the colours of the images they chose to complement their existing decor.  The result was a series of various width canvasses to form a warm Autumn coloured panoramic display across the length of the wall.

I was thrilled to receive a big bunch of roses (I so LOVE a flower delivery) last week with a note from Lou and Paul saying they absolutely adore their pictures! We’re happy people all round!  12_54_07_IMG_7997-1
